If anyone can help me find the specs on the stock stereo in a 1987 Z I would be very appreciative. I've been trying to find out wattage and such but am having no luck. Thanks in advance for any help.
Also does anyone know of any other stereo with a cd player that will fit in the dash like the original stereo? I'm looking to upgrade the stereo or at least get new speakers.

I have an 87 300ZXT. It had the steering wheel controls and the preamp under the passenger seat. Started to squeal so I decided to upgrade my stereo. I ended up putting a new amp under the hatch behind the seats, a Sony AM/FM/CD head unit from Crutchfield and a MiniDisc changer behind the passenger seat. New speakers all around. Prewired for a powered sub-woofer but ran out of money. The Crutchfield head unit installed beautifully, but there wasn't anything I could do to make the steering wheel buttons work. The dash plate that came with the Crutchfield kit looks very professionally done.
