Painted my intake cover :)

Wow, this turned out to be a much underestimated job for what I wanted to do.
Heres a pic of what it looked like before:

Heres a pic of after I put 3.5 hours into sanding and painting:

Heres a few more:

Theres 6 coats of black and 3 coats of clear on that baby. I think it turned out really nice compared to what it used to look like.

Thanks,

Yeah, I used Duplicolor black and clear high temp (up to 500 degrees). I was thinkin about just using some Krylon clear (not high temp) I had around the house, but after getting this far, I wasnt going to have it peel off.

Im thinking about doing the valve covers next, maybe painting them all black, and then painting the indents near the intake aluminum colored.

Well, like I said, Im prolly gonna paint my valve covers, and Im gonna replace my radiator hoses, so that should help a bit... A little more elbow grease and it should be lookin pretty good.

What process did you use to bring the aluminum out of the paint?

Tape, buff, dremmel polish?

I would nt mind redoing mine, and clearing it, if I knew the process that you used.
