1979 280zx Emblems.

Holy crap. I was looking online for emblems for my car and they are going for 150$ for brand new stock O.E.M emblems!!! Is there anyone out there that has or can get their hands on a set? I would be will to pay like 50$ if they are mint, since I need to put them on my Z after I get it repainted. I really don't want to drop 150$

uhmmm.... That's kinda crazy. I see them on Ebay every other listing.

Surely they can't be too much... I've never looked into pricing though. How about a junkyard? You can sometimes find some decent stuff out there.

I guess what I see as 50$ is one emblem being sold at $19.99 with $5 shipping. So its pretty much 49.98

I'm thinking he's talking about a "Pair" of Emblems... That's how he got to 50 bucks (I hope).

If you're going to buy 'new' then get the Fairlady Z emblems.

Yahoo Japan had a set of FairladyZ emblems for the 280ZX the other day. Going for cheap too. And they are the same style of lettering as the US 280ZX. And as far getting a "mint" emblem goes. Easier said then done guys. I've got one and I only paid a few bucks for it on ebay. But I need it to make molds off of. Most aren't in very good shape but nothing a little rechroming wont fix. Another alternative is to go through a company like Victoria British or MSA. They have OEM emblems for far less than what you were seeing and you would never be able to tell the difference between those and what Datsun put on the car originally (if there even is a difference).

And you know what I find funny. That some were so quick to jump on the simple math above. When in actuality it was very simple to see that he was talking about wanting a pair of emblems and paying that each Being quick on the draw doesn't mean squat if you can't hit the target

sorry for being a smart ***... and yes... we all got the "pair" part... it just "sounded" like he was saying 19.99 + 5 = 49.99.

to get technical... he said:

A set would be four... 1 for the hood, 2 for fenders, and 1 for the hatch. No?
