Turbo MY 79 ZX??

i was wanting to turbo my N/A L28E. any tips on what i might need other than:Turbo(duh,lol), turbo manifold,injectors,PCM or ECU(??), bigger MAF or at least a different one. please any help would be used quickly and proficiently,lol. thank you for your time in advance.

This' actually a very common topic of discussion, such that a "Search" would probably yield some very good results.

No, don't turbo your non-turbo engine. Especially you '79 engine with open chamber head.

Buy a complete turbo engine and install that with the turbo wiring and ECU.

The thing is, you need the proper head and block combination. If you can't find a complete L28 turbo, then you still must change your engine out.
Buy a P79 because of the closed chamber design. Then keep your existing block because it has dished pistons. Then put the turbo and manifold on the head. (check on this though, the P79 has round exhaust ports while the turbo manifold is made to adapt to square ports) You must use the turbo AFM and computer. (ECU) You can get away with using the non-turbo distributor if you must. Retard the ignition a couple degrees from stock. Only a little though. Don't run very high boost. 9psi max.

Or do it the right way and swap in a complete engine and you wont' have to do all this ghetto rigging. If you don't have enough money to get an L28 turbo then forget about it!
