I've been in touch with Silvrhand to make some site adjustments. He's been REALLY busy lately, but asked that we put a list together of things we would like changed / fixed & he will take care of them next week (Dec 16 - 22). So please post anything that you want / need attention on.

My list:

#1... Add MARKETPLACE to main forums page.
#2... Upgrade search feature: No "30 second wait" between searches, and that it will recognize words less than 4 characters in length.

What else?

 

change the word Marketplace to Classifieds. That seems to be a more reconized name for selling items.

 

classifieds.

minimum character count.

time between searches.

increasing standard for visible threads.

maybe something about how we are automatically billed for our subs. it should be a notification and an option if you want to renew your sub.

 

maybe change the front page, so the most recent announcement is on top

 

and maybe more announcements, or put up a picture of a members ride

 

maybe give some site format privelages to admins who visit the site regularly?

 

limit the size of signature pictures. If not automaticially we could add it to the site rules and post a bulletin.

 

next time you see him give him a good square kick in the nuts.....

Can someone test the classifieds make sure they work?

 

Yep... classifieds works. I tried the search feature... I love the zero wait time! But... 3 letter searches still don't work. Like AFM ... MAF ... ???

 

only threads that have been posted in in the last month are shown, which means that there are very few visible threads in some forums. this may scare new people away if they dont realize that. id suggest bumping the time up a bit, maybe to like 3 months, if you can

 

oh, and i was talking about the 10 character length in the messages, not search

the search limit is more annoying than the message length thing.

 

those suggestions rock, but there is a 300 character length for sigs that is kinda a hassle, cause i can resize my pics for my sig so they are small and not obnoxious but then i cant type more than 10 characters once they are in there....

edit: never mind i get it, make them as one pic. well i would, but when i resized it it will smash it to the desired dimensions and look crappy.

i have 2 real suggestions now.

1. get rid of the 60 seconds between sending pm's

2. give an option to re-send the email confirmation for new members, because i just got a im on aim from a new member that needed his e-mail confirmation re-sent. and i know this has happened at least once before.

edit: oh yeah and im still missing like 2000 posts from my post count

second edit: and i motion the idea to change "marketplace" to "classifieds" its what more people look for imo

i vote deletion of the post ***** thread and that we make a general vehicle repair forum or subforum...
