Getting the right info from posters

I have a constructive suggestion for the site: ADD to every post-to-forum page and every text box a NOTE THAT POSTERS HAVE TO READ before they post : "READ THIS BEFORE POSTING - When you post a question, include the Z year, model, type (turbo or not), transmission, mileage - and any mods. This info helps us help you."

Too many guys post just a question with no info - so we just pass it up. No way to answer it without the Z info. We get tired of asking for it from every poster - and guessing is a bad idea.

Also on the thread pages, you could move the Tire Rack logo up a notch to just under the search bar - above the forum name - so users see the forum name easier and know what forum the thread is from. Maybe the forum name in a LARGER font so it looks like a page header?

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I completely understand what you mean about people posting w/o any info. Unfortunately, no matter how you hold someone's hand, if they don't understand the "why", it doesn't matter to them. I created and have in effect a welcome PM sent to every new member. It outlines how to use our forum, the rules on posting, and to download the FSM for free from Xenon for their specific car. From all the new member first posts, I would guestimate that about 20% actually read it.

I will work on adjusting the forum layout.

Thanks, Nismo. I'm guessing the site is a template program and isn't easy to modify beyond the basic form it arrives with. I'm not a programmer in any sense or I would give it a shot. Can't count the number of times I pass on a good post because it's missing critical info. The school course was called "Effective Communication 101" They taught it at my school but I was sick that day.

Thanks again.
