FS: Melbourne, 82 5spd 280zx
Time has come to sell my 82 as my 76 needs some TLC and i don't have room for 2 cars any more.
If you are in melbourne, aus i'm selling the following :
1982 280zx 2+2
5 spd NA
Targa Top, good body, silver duco.
engine is still strong, smooth shifting box
rego just expired and needs some new shocks and bushes. needs some new front tyres. it's got 260z wheels on it at the moment.
Non Z enthusiasts - $1000
Z enthusiasts - $ 700
Rock up in a nice Z - $ 500 and a drive of your car
I would sell this car privately for a grand - if you are a genuine z lover and would keep this car on the road (i don't want this car parted out, it is too good to wreck) , you can have it for $700 ono.
Check my gallery for photos (it's the silver one

Oh - and be quick cos i'm very tempted to swap the gearbox into my 76.

sad its clear in australia
okay, that is a gorgeous car. I have a 1981 280zx coupe and a 1977 280z 2+2 and i'm looking for a few parts or maybe another one to cherry out. Both of mine are in the works of becoming gorgeous but its slow and tedious. This is probably a really mundane and dumb questions but is there any way to get a car from aus to usa? and if so...i have a few more questions.
thanks,
JT

My Z's are all well loved
you can probably see why i don't want it wrecked.
Unfortunately, even the costs for shipping much smaller parts overseas makes the price a bit prohibitive. I've tried getting rails and pans delivered from the US from my 260z and ultimately was best off getting custom re-inforcements seam welded in due to the shipping costs.
I guess it would depend on the price of a good car in the USA, and you would need to remember that this is a Right Hand Drive

F54 block with an N42 head on it. Runs on premium unleaded without problems but the open N42 head means you need 98 octane on the really hot days to avoid pinging.
The motor is pretty good, but it's hard for me to compare as my L26 (in the 260) is modified and only rebuilt recently. Overall it's strong and reliable.
If you would like me to take some more photos let me know.
I am prepared to sell this car at a good price so long as I know it will go towards furthering the tradition
