1979 Datsun 280ZX Project or Parts Car for Sale
1979 Datsun 280ZX
Good project or parts car, currently disassembled; I stripped it down to have it repainted and do not have time to complete the project.
145K miles
Engine is in very good condition
Paint needs stripping and repainting
Currently the following items are removed: bumpers, front fenders, windshield, door windows, dashboard, head-lights and tail-lights.
Cowl was rusted under the windshield; rusted area was cut out and there is a replacement piece ready to be welded in.
Firestone Firehawk tires have lots of tread.
Car was running great when the restoration project began 2+ years ago.
Includes over $2100 in brand new OEM parts (weatherstripping, trim, emblems, valence, etc.) I bought for the restoration. See following link for list of new parts:
http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/d4cdd...D9pW_ADInlowSa
Everything for $700, less than a third the cost of the new parts.
Buyer has to pick up vehicle or arrange shipping.

A few questions first off though.
1) is the car still for sale?
2) the parts that are removed...they are goign with the car yet?
3) what kind of shape is the body in? rust? dents?
Thanks a bunch

1) Yes, it is still for sale
2) Yes, I have all the parts that were removed, and they are all included in the price. Also included in the price are the new parts I bought to use during the restoration. The windshield had a crack in it and had to be removed to get at the cowl and got cracked worse during removal, and is essentially not usuable, though I still have it.
3) The cowling (piece across the bottom of the windshield) was severely rusted along the bottom of the windshield. I removed the windshield and cut out the old cowling. I bought a replacement cowl at a junkyard and have it cut down to size to be welded in. Some prep work will have to be done to the car and replacement panel prior to welding it in.
There is a some rust along the top edge of windshield where it mates with the roofline.
Some rust along where the left rear taillight gasket sits.
Some rust along the hatch striker plate and hinges.
Small rust spot along rocker panel behind and below driver door.
Dimple in right front fender
Shallow crease along right and left doors.
RIght front fender has criinkle along edge of wheel well, and along door junction.
Hood nose lower edge has minor bend.
Body shop said all the above is repairable.
Paint is severely checked over most of car and will require stripping.
If you're still interested and if you like, I could take some pics and email them to you. If interested, send me a private message with your email address. I probably would not get to that until this weekend.
