my IS

well there was some interest in me posting my IS up here

i jsut bought the z for a fun daily driver and i really do enjoy it.

anyway - here's why my z will not be modded:

its currently being "revamped" i ahd a fwe issues so i decided to jsut change a lot of things, like a built motor instead of stock bottom end, buigger turbo, new trans the ussuals. i did all the original work myself with the help of a friend - but this time i simply don't have the time to deal with it sigh - so it is in MD while i sit in ATL missing it. its a fun car.

befoer it was stock engine and compression (10.5:1) with .6 bar of boost regulated by a 44mm tial wastegate fed by a garret t04e 60mm turbo - 440cc injectors and a 255 pump with an added a fuel return line(returnless system from the factory if you didn't know) all kept in check with an e-manage. i kept the stock esxhasut from the the axel back while limiting agve it a great quiet sound and added to the whole sleeper effect (but also i think eventually lead to the demise of my turbo) made ~330 rwtq and ~310rwhp on a conservative street tune (11:1 pretty constant). never took it to the track but to the dragon a few times, auto-xed it a few times - it was a rough summer i didn't have a lot of time to myself sadly to participate in real track events like i had planned on doing.

other mods include -
D2 coilovers (13kg/mm front and 11 kg/mm rear - don't laugh they are awsome)
hotchkis sway bars
project Mu pads front and rear
brembo sport rotors front and rear
project mu stainless/teflon brake lines
tanabe underbraces front and rear
custom boxed in control arms
track/summer wheels - advan rcII with advan neova tires 245/40-17 all around

werd heres some el pics

this was before the turbo - but still one of my favorite pics

That's really awesome, good work. I like the IS300 a lot. It's the only "Modern" Toyota I would own. I really don't like the looks of the new style IS cars though. They should have left it alone. Still, ya gotta love the Straight 6 RWD cars!!!
Anybody see that episode of "Rides" where they stuffed the V8 from the LS into an IS300? Chip Foose paint scheme and wheels, Rod Millen Mechanicals... ANGRY! That was too cool.

Rod.
