eye candy for gearheads
Vacation was great, pic attached. An earlier model Porsche 911, all body work made of stainless steel, done as a test vehicle. Having grown up in a road-salt state, and a long time admirer of the 911, this looked like the perfect vehicle to me. It made a nice pair with the BMW 507 that was parked in front of it (the first Z3 design cues make a lot more sense now that I've seen that car). My wife said I could have the Porsche if she could have the BMW. So, that sounds like a green light to me...
Now, time to get back to working on the Z...

Some of those euro tuner-altered cars are pretty nice. And the through-the-factory endorsement keeps the warranty and support intact, so you're not just buying some guy's garage project that way, either.
Here's the BMW 507 that was displayed with the Porsche.

stainless really doesnt hold up to salt all that well. it gets stained, believe it or not, just cause its called stainless, doesnt mean anything. cool in any garage tho. id go for composites if your dealing with salt, so start making moulds!!
Yeah, definitely not a cure-all, but much more corrosion resistance than plain steel, paint, and "rust inhibitors" that we had when I was growing up. I found a better fix for the road salt problem though: move.
