1962 Ranchero

I sold it last night. I must not have been asking enough $$$. A guy came an looked at it, drove it around, and gave me the money I was asking for.... hmmm. I think they're pretty ugly myself but kid #2 liked it. I bought it 6 months before he got his license. we did some body work, painted it in the garage, put all new door and window rubber in, rebuilt the head, installed new custom by me exhaust, new 4 wheel drum brakes and slave cylinders and a few other new parts. The only problem with it was a coupla times when the kid first started driving it, he got stranded when the car wouldn't fire up, it only happened on cool dewy nights. I finally figured out the new dizzy cap had a small crack in it from the kid puddle jumping in the rain. The crack allowed moisture inside and shorted out the spark.

The nostalgia in this car for me is that I rode around in a sedan version of one of these when my dad bought one brand new off the dealers lot in 1962.

Oh well, kid #2 and I are now looking for a late 50's car to tinker on while kid #1 and I continue to build up the datsun 510.

Yeah that is a tight looking Ranchero! But of course I am not a really big Ford fan. But it is still pretty sweet!
