Finally figured out what calipers I have
I posted a few weeks ago trying to get info and ideas on what rear disc setup I had. I took what was left of my pads to the local Napa and found that I have the '84-'87 Fiero GT rear aluminum calipers on my 280Z with a 1/2" adapter and the stock front rotors moved to the back. That sure made it a lot easier to order race pads from Porterfield!
I should have them in plenty of time to make the first race. Just curious if anyone else has seen or done this conversion...as this is the first that I've seen it on a Z.

pics of the brakes finally
Here you go. I finally got a digital camera and took some pics. I found that the brake bracket is off of a Pontiac 6000 STE and the caliper is an aluminum 6000 STE/Fiero piece with provisions for a park brake cable and is 10% larger bore then the ZX caliper. The rotor used on mine is a stock 6000 STE caliper 10 5/16" with 1.5" hat depth redrilled for the Z pattern and uses a 14mm spacer behind the rotor for proper spacing. I'm using Porterfield R4-S compound part # AP 262 autocross pads on them for now. If anyone is interested, I've got an extra set of brackets and calipers for sale.
