understeer is when the front wheels lose grip, and oversteer is when the rear wheels lose grip, right?

 

im pretty sure thats the basic idea, although there may be a more elaborate answer.

 

You are right, the great thing of RWD cars is that you can force the transition from U/S to O/S. FWD cars, you pretty much have to just lift of the gas and slow down. Altho, that is safer for the average car retard............
