That is not a stock or lightly modified engine.

They do have low torque. I can grab some random video off the internet showing an all motor CRX running a 12 second quarter mile. That doesn't mean that Honda makes high powered 4-cyl engines.

a 280ZX non-turbo can blow away a 1st gen RX7 without even trying. ...or with trying

torque means nothing after the firs 2 seconds into a race. or unless your towing, and yes rotaries use a good amount of gas, but now one said they were GAS efficient.

I liked my RX7, but it's that damn seal that goes out, can't leave em parked for more than 6 months or so, or the seal might go bad... then if you can find someone to fix it,... I'll keep a Z, one day, I'll take a RX motor a part and try to put it back together, maybe it will run... LOL

And no one said anything about any other kind of efficiency either. And when there's lack of specification, and we're talking overall "efficiency", then it's still nothing special, because amount of fuel consumption is a part of the engine formula. After all, efficiency is just getting the greatest output for the least amount of input.

Also, races are frequently won or lost in the first couple seconds (especially drag racing), so don't be so dismissive about the usefulness of torque. It's also what helps pull the car out of corners too.
