Which should I sell?

OK here is my own snw-esque question. I'm thinking about selling one of my two remaining Zs (sold the ZXT last month....couldn't get used to the auto.). I just don't drive them enough. I only put 3000 miles on the Tree Fiddy last year....and now that I have two bikes, that might be reduced further. I only put around 1500 miles on the 240, but that might be a non-factor since its a classic.

So which Z should I sell? I know ultimately its my own decision, but its nice to get feedback from fellow enthusiasts who've probably been in similiar situations.

Of course the 350 will bring in a little more money (I have no idea what the 240 is worth...).

All opinions are appreciated. (I'm pretty certain I know which way this will go...)

keep the 240... in the long run its gonna be worth more than anything else you own... the sad thing is the 350Z will be hard to sell... took me almost 4 months to sell mine.. and i think i got lucky selling it for $16,000 for a 05 touring.... i just seen a 03 sell for $9,000... i look at it this way.. which one if you had to sell will you miss more... id say you'll miss your 240 more..

the 240 will always be a classic and you put so much work into it, it is special. the 350 is just another car so to speak. but the 350 is depreciating FAST! don't ask why. so in a couple years with the right work on the 240 it will be worth more. haha. its not like you try to DD the 350, and at least not more so than the 240 so i would go with the one that has more meaning behind it...

Ah the 240Z is up 2-0.

I agree with both of y'all's points. The 240's value is going nowhere but up.....the 350, well.....

Its true I have attachment to the 240 due to all the work put into it....but I've had the 350 for 6 1/2 years, so there is some attachment there to. But sometimes you need a change....

Would anyone have any idea what the 350 is worth. '04 Enthusiast, 44xxx miles, Nismo exhaust, suspension, & bodykit, JWT pop charger, a few carbon fiber bits. $7,500?? I'm kidding......I hope! I was thinking $12-13,000???

if you've got to sell one, make it the 350. that said, just drive the 350 more! take it to work once in a while!

Snw, didn't think you were a fan of the Tree Fiddy?

I might make that deal....but the last thing I need is another bike.

The 370 roadster! Unfortunately that would require car payments....

I still haven't decided what to do with the Tree Fiddy. I might sell it and eventually buy another old Z.....either an S30 or another ZX-T (manual only!). I definitely have the most enthusiasm for the old Ferrari-looking Zs....

Well doesn't look like I'll be selling a Z afterall. Looks like I'll be unloading the Ducati instead. It left me standed again yesterday.....the FOURTH TIME in less than a year. I checked the lemon laws, and unfortunately, it doesn't apply to motorcycles in Illinois. I blame the dealership....the bike was fine until I took it in for a voltage regulator recall about this time last year. They can't get it fixed right.....and won't admit it. I've sent emails to the general manager, and service manager and also shot one to Ducati North America. If they ever want my business again, they need to get this resolved. IMO, they should buy the bike back, FIX IT RIGHT, then sell it. I don't really want the bike back....nobody wants to ride a bike they can't trust.

lame on duc's part. hey, two questions though

how many miles do you expect out of a well maintained duc engine. i.e. with a z32 n/a you might expect between 100 and 300k depending on care. is the duc around 20-50k?

is anyone else that you know of having any similar problems?

LOL snw. I'm going back and forth about parting with the Tree Fiddy! HAve to admit buying a Jap bike for a second beater bike is not a bad idea. I like the lime green Ninjas though!

KasbekZ, I'm not sure about the longetivity for Duc engines but 20-50,000 sounds about right.....though I doubt anyone ever gets that close due to reliability issues. Haven't heard of anyone else having these issues.

do iiiiiiiiiiiit....

only prob is my bike has almost 14k i checked the odometer yesterday, 139XX i almost **** my pants. so i'll prob only get 5kish for it, hopefully i get my 5500 i want since it was just painted and has all the good aftermarket stuff, without any of the crap like sprocketed or a PCIII showing it was stunted or raced. which it wasn't very well taken care of and i have receipts for it dating back to 2006 i believe. so if anything you should just buy my bike now, since im prob picking up a S2K in the next day or two.

Ill definatly vouch for kawis lasting forever. I had a 98 zx9r with like 25xxx on it and it ran like a top. 180mph and would accelerate as fast as any other bike around. I traded a 3 dirtbikes for the thing and literally put NO money in it except for gas. Its not that i dont take care of my stuff. That thing was just a beater, so I treated it that way. lol

Well they're are saying the bike ran out of gas....and has a faulty fuel sensor so the low-fuel warning light never came on. Per instructions from Ducati, they're going to fix it for free.

Been through the dunes as well as a bunch of soft sandy roads, it feels like a very heavy dirt bike.

Yeah I really liked the car....kinda miss it actually. Just couldn't get used to the AT and I tried and tried to get them all in the garage, but just couldn't get it done without creating possibilities of something getting scratched. I'll have to expand on my garage before I get another Z....

lol, you should leave shitfield, i mean Springfield, and come up north a bit into the further burbs where you can actually own land and a larger garage. haha. your house is def alright for your needs, but that garage isn't and it didn't seem like you had much room to expand. and plus, its SPRINGFIELD!!!! lol, no one should want to live there.
