wow. i just found out one of my best friends from high school is in rehab for 3 months. a rehab that you can't leave. that's pretty depressing. i mean, i used to hang out and smoke with him. then i laughed when he came to school with powder on his nose. makes me think i should have expressed a little more how much i noticed that he was getting out of hand. but he got caught selling prescriptions and got 3 weeks in jail (second sentence), 3 months in rehab, and 1 1/2 years probation. pretty weird. i just talked to him while he's in rehab and he sounds so sorry already. he hasn't even been there long. he's talking about his future and how embarrassed he is and how he should have listened. i don't get worked up easy but that was some weird ****

That sucks man. I have a bunch of friends that are screwing up their life. I can't do anything about it, so I am just not a part of their life until they change for the better. I would rather not be around when more go to jail or kill themselves. Never been much into drugs myself. I did the pot thing when I was in high school, but that got old, and I won't have something in my life that might screw it up. I do that well enough without the help of drugs. lmao

yeah same here. it's fun for me when i'm in the perfect environment, but other than that it makes me nervous and embarrassed. i just wish i could tell this friend to write his story right now and give it to all my other friends that are doing the same thing.

so here's another one of my paranoid rants about parts availability. any evidence to say that parts for s30's won't be around and available for at least another decade? i mean, they are all rusting out, and if they are being restored, they are being well cared for. so, the market has to go down some time. will s30 owners be screwed any time soon?

It might happen. Does with most cars.
That is where ingenuity and compromise takes over.
NOS parts are already getting harder to find.

Try finding parts for my motorcycle. It's not easy.
Through forums like these we can keep them alive for a long long time.

yeah. i guess that if something breaks that you can't get anymore, you can usually find a different one to be made to fit. ok. paranoia has been settled

That's because S30's are cool.
Who would want to keep all those S130's running?
No thanks.

well, i haven't kept a car for more than a year yet. i haven't found one that i can modify any. the midget wasn't worth it cause it would never get anywhere, and the first step to modding my z32 costs $10k. so i'm finally trying to get a car that i can afford to modify, and that will keep me occupied for several years. i'm just making sure that i won't get stuck in a really tough spot in a few years. but i guess i was just over looking the ingenuity factor. if something that i can't find breaks, i'll take one from a honda or a ford and make that one work instead. no worries.

the S30 and S130 share ALOT together and because of being RWD affordable and so lightweight stylish and with the huge engine bay, they get alot of attention and support from the aftermarket and even stock replacement, MSA is a company gone HUGE from the S30 alone really and then there are specialty one off mom and pa shops mass producing high quality after market parts because they love the car. i think that its possible, but SO SO DAMN unlikely that the S30 will die off soon. theres to many enthusiast and lately a rise in the interest in them and restoration. the only reason you can get them so cheap now is the same reason for why every car is so cheap now. economy blows *** people cant have fun cars anymore and need practicality

well yeah they'll still be popular. but they can be the coolest car out there, but if there are only x number of them that are useable, and they are all already restored and not being driven a lot, parts companies might not be getting the business they used to. but it's a long way off. my worries have been eliminated now.

I plan on having my, or another S30 for a long long time. Pass it on to the kids. Even if I have to put some homo electric nuclear rainbow powered future engine in there in place of a totally badass L28ET.

So, I was informed today that I will be flying into San Diego on the 21st to go see BSU play TCU at the Poinsettia Bowl. So, I will be down there a couple days if any of you California people wanna hang out. And take me for a ride in your Z`s. Just a thought.

So, I have decided from now on I will only own datsun`s, cars older then 1952, and motorcycles, I am wayyyyy to big to work on the newer cars with the little tiny working spaces. I needs me a Japanese mechanic to do my bidding.

Got the engine in the firebird, got it all bolted in, changed the tranny filter, tommorow wiring to the HEI and figuring out how to turn 80psi of fuel pressure into 6psi for the carb. I hate cars.

Yeah, but there is like 6 wires from the original harness, i have to find the right ones. Gonna go with an inline fuel pump, should make things easier, I seriously hate cars. I`m gonna walk from now on. Pics coming soon.
