we just finished putting a wastegate on a friends z31, after it was all said an done, we decide to test it out, we set it to open at 11psi, so were going along and im watching the boost gauge slowly crawl up to 11psi, then BAM!!!! the friggin wastegate opened and it sounded like a damn shotgun went off, so right now im making it dump back into the exhaust instead of just into the engine bay.,.

dude... is it an external wastegate? if so... its made like that for a reason... jsut create a dump tube that blows at teh ground, thats how its supposed to be done.

ummm... do they have stock recirc's? and tehy already got wastegates.... its internally gated... F the external waste gate you dont need it until you pushing higher boost, liek 20's or at least 15.... BOV is good mod if the Z31 is any like the 280zxt and doesnt have a stock one/recirculatory valve.... it will prolong turbo life by releasing the pressure... plus if you use internal gated and get a custom down pipe that external vents teh internal wastegate, or you have to get a new turbo that requires an external wastegate....

how is it mia???? idk... you got alot of considering to do before you do that stuff... imo, get your BOV if you dont get a recirc, upgrade the turbo that hast no waastegate get you new exhaust mani that has an external gate mount, install, install dump tube, then worry about fuel so you can start making more power.

when i was in the process of rebuilding my turbo, i noticed my wastegate was frozen shut, i kinda let it ride thinking i was going to add an external wastegate or a BOV..

the wastgate better not be frozen shut other wise you just gonna build bosst till it runs out or your car blows the **** up.... ummm... get a new turbo and go external wastegate... your gonna need matching flanges after all... and a BOV wont solve that problem.
