A race went down tonight. No Z's involved. But a race Cady Vers Ford. The Cady- 83 with 307 Ford-Ranger- 23NES 2.3 Twin Overhead Cam(mine)

The race went on for awhile, we broke it off due to traffic. He dissaperd behind me. A mile or two, he snuk up on me and hit the pasing lane comin hard. I downshifted to 4th. I was able to even it out Before he passed me. Then, i took him. WOT @ 118MPH and still accelerating when the off ramp for me came up. We both got off and meet at a gas station. He said he will Never underestamate another Ranger. I told him it ain't nothin but a 4 banger 2wd with 31X10:50's. He was just shocked. Nice guy. Ranger makes me proud again.

 

if you were driving the Mercury he would have really been in trouble! hehe

 

don't let that mercury fool you. that 3.8 has some ***. and she ain't all that slow at all. Nor is she quite.

 

my best friend's mom has a taurus with that same motor....you're used to slow cars or something. That car IS NOT fast! sorry, buddy....but it's true.

the 3.8 duratech has 265 hp, dont know the torque, not all that bad, thats what my dads taurus has in it.

 

does your dad have a 99 SHO? If so, it's a 3.4 L and it has 235hp and it's made by yamaha. This is the highest hp taurus to ever hit the floor with the previous generation's SHO in a close second with 220hp. There has never been a 3.8L duratec put into a Taurus. The only 3.8L ever offered for the Taurus was in the 90-95 Taurus/Sable, which was not a Duratec. That motor is called the Essex and has 140hp.

Hey, race my buddy's 95 SHO. It's not really fast, but it'd give your NA or your 260z a run if it were finished.

 

it was an easy project, small spots on the floor boards, lower dog leg panels, front left fender and headlight bucket, he kinda scored at $200 plus he got a spare front k-member and the entire rear suspension assembly including a diff, plus a phoenix fuel cell..

 

oooo a fuel cell... fancy.... i been thinking aboot converting the 260Z fo EFI but on a standalone system so i can buy less adn it will run better. i just am new to standalone systems that the only scary part. then i would cam it maybe bore it a lil bit later on and then get coil on plug style ignition. but that standalone is spooky... and who knows stuff about lonewofl intake manifolds? cuase i went to teh site and tis soo retardedly general and has 3 different pics of intake manifolds for our cars... but no description.
and im somewhat quiting oin the l28et idea cause i can find crap around me.. the engine in virginia is just a long block with no dizzy or manifolds or turbo or fuel system...
