Favorite bands anyone?

Just figured I'd start a thread about peoples favorite bands,to spark up a good conversation or two, seeing how as the of topic.Has been kinda dead lately.

To start off i listen to everything except rap,but my favorites are older punk such as Rancid and Bad Religion, and some newer metal such as Dope and Into Eternity.

Green Day
AC/DC
Metallica
Aerosmith
Van Halen, not Van Hagar or that other crap they've made recently.
ZZ Top
Joe Satriani

I also like quite a bit of country, but not that twangy crap.
Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban

Led Zepplin & Pink Floyd are at the top of my list. Old school & proud of it.

Thanks to my kids, I've grown to like Nirvana and Green Day and some others

Absolute faves are old Genesis (Before Phil Collins abandoned what he was truly born to do...drum not sing). Pink Floyd (both with and without Roger Waters).
Love old punk rock as well. Rancid, bad religion, dead kennedys, pistols, etc...
Liking the newer punk as well...Green Day, Sum 41, Good Charlotte.
Gotta love U2
Need a steady dose of good brit rock like Stone Roses, Seahorses, pulp, housemartins, the jam, etc
Led Zep, Bad Company are staples....man the list is way to long!
Some folk...Van Morrison, James Taylor, Neil Diamond
Grunge...not so much Nirvana but like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and the best of them all, Alice in Chains
Hair Bands...Great White, some Motley Crew, Dokken, Def Leppard, Cinderella, scorpions. Bands like Poison, Rat, Whitesnake can kiss my ****.

Got Guitar? I'm likely going to like it.

Just can't stand any rap and very little country.
Hell, I even like classical music.

i love just about everthing. currently the bands i would say are my favorite would be push to talk, aesop rock, zion i, tsunami bomb, the gorrilaz and lots more. but what i find interesting is how the definition of punk has changed, and it has become almost pop. not judging. i like a lot of today's "punk", but if compared to traditional and contemporary true punk, they are very different

I can barely stand any of the new punk bands. They're all overplayed on the radio, they're all trying to look all gothed out more so chicks we like them, and to be a part of the "trend",and each band only has a few good songs on one cd.

That one thing a really judge a band by.If they release a cd and they only have one good song thats worth listening to,I think they suck.

Anyone here listen to Into Eternity? They're like a newer age metal but there not just another one of those bands that sings all RagRGE!all the time,to were u cant understand them. They have there own defined sound they dont sound like any other band I've ever heard of.
And the guitarist is ridiculously awesome.
Yall should check'em out.

I like rock and metal classic rock, hair band rock, death metal. Here it goes.

Old school Metallica, not anything past the Black album
Megadeth
Iron Maiden
Dream Theater
RUSH
Ozzy, and Black Sabbath
Led Zeppelin
AC/DC
Chevelle
Disturbed
Godsmack
Pink Floyd
Death
old Sepultura
Slayer
Metal Church
Exodus
Overkill
Fates Warning
Queensryche
Nickelback
Queens of the stone age
Firehouse
Def Leppard
Bon Jovi
Collective Soul
Velvet Revolver
Killswitch Engage
Animorphis
Nirvana
Soundgarden
Carcass
Arch Enemy
White Zombie, and Rod Zombie
Pantera
Suicidal Tendencies

There is so many more, but it gives you guys an idea of what I like, I also like some punk, and soft rock that I grew up with. James Taylor, Kenny Rogers, Chicago, Journey you get the idea. I am pretty versatile when it comes to the rock category, except a lot of the wimpy alternative crap in the '90's that turn my stomach, because it is boring, an meaningless to me!

I have to add another..... it's a guy but he's been in many bandz and has to be one of the more talented individuals of all time...... Eric Clapton. Not any one specific band or song, but the range of music, over the years is impressive. The words and sounds cthat he can create with just an accoustic guitar is magical. to me anyway.

Canyon. If you don 't have or haven't had the pleasure of viewing/hearing the "Crossroads" DVD. I strongly recommend it.
Many great guitarists come togther for the concert/compilation. It is absolutely amazing...

Clapton, Cray, Walsh, Santana...the list of guitar gods goes on

The music, to listen to, is incredible. To watch the masters at their craft at the same time...wow.

I'mma go with with most of what WildmaN listed.
Metallica is at the top of my list of what I mostly listen to but I'm a diehard fan so i listen to and own every album of theirs. Not only that i also have tons of Live Metallica stuff. I know it's the same songs over and over but i can't get enough for some reason lol.

Metallica is another one of my fav bands to.Also suicidal tendencies man they had some awesome tunes.

I think it's really amazing how the style and performance of music has changed over the years. Each generation is submitting a new style to the list.
Just think about what kinda music we'll have 20 years from now.

^^LoL if you changed the word music to zcar's that paragragh would still make since.
