Hahaha, apparently my grandma believes that too about retirement! She was the 1st nurse in our family (that I know of), and there's currently 3 other nurses now. My mom is a Radiation Therapist - works in Oncology, treating cancer and AIDS patients with radiation.

Wow, your dad is 84? Good for him! I hope he has many more years of happiness. Does he live in So Cal too?

Yah, sounds like it! We'll that just means I'll have less luggage when I come visit, cuz summer clothes take up much less space than winter clothes.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, "piqued" is the proper grammar in the context I used earlier. Thank you, Mr. Nitpicker.

inland in so cal in the mts, it's sno-cal. at the beaches--it snowed once in 1990--stuck, too, actually--in L A--1/4 inch or less on the boats!! colder than -------.!! cold in the desert is COLD--at the water and ON the water, it is CCCCOOOOOLLLLLDDDDDD. thank heaven for cats--warmies.
dad and ma and my kid and 2 sibs live in phoenix, which i figger is hell on earth--when my great-grandfather lived there, people were bringing their mulberry trees and other pollen producers they were trying to get away from (asthma) and so the air is foul with pollens that kill asthmatix. o-well.

nurses are NOT allowed to retire. i did 30 years of ICO/ER/post anes recovery--all hi tek trenches in war zones (ghetto-gang-bang hell areas)--until i got broken--we do not retire--we work ourselves to death or worse--
