You might be right ... but, I just gotta find out for myself. In certain situations, I'm one of those people that has to actually "do it" in order to fully understand why others might oppose it. I'll update ya with my results when I get the parts ordered and installed.

Sorry Barbie, but the Lappy isnt going to be as fast as a desktop. Because of the limited space the devices have to be smaller, put out lots less heat and use up less energy.
Cos of that the drives run at lower RPM and the processors cut back as often as possible.
HP did have a few models of laptop that used some desktop components, they were faster but you couldnt put them on your lap without serious skin damage heehee
But go nuts

my laptop is a very large pavilion--desktoppable, storage and usage wise, i'm told--i love it , when sprint cooperates and the navy is out of town and the bridge is not being allegedly threatened. to much security surveillance here--jams up my signal so streaming is nearly impossible--everything that streams in my machine has seizures--way fun to watch, but i like my music without the jerks. that dance went out of vogue inn the 60's,man. but it is still on my computer--no chat, no sounds--how neanderthal is my tech. but the computer itself is great. i want to get a smaller one for regular laptop stuff and leave this one for base station--eventually.
