crap! i think im back in the game.....
lol i already checked it out i know what it needs. if i end up not liking it more im going to part it then. i mean, dude, its free! with an uncracked dash so the guy says. and i got another 240Z close by i can pick up for 500 if i want with a great interior and has been in a garage for over a decade only surface rust and probably a stiff motor and crappy flat to SU's on it.
helllllll no. this SX is a beater POS im driving it till it dies that or if i get rid of it im probably parting it its to rusty for me to sell and make back my money and to rusty for me to put money into. i gave it a new radio since it was 100% stock and thats all im giving it other than gas and oil changes. also, sorry ladies but i didnt pick up the car today i couldnt get a car dolly. so i will either get it tomorrow or monday at the latest i hope. sorry for still not having pics
Congrats snw...on your new free 280z. Hope all goes well with your build. I need to start working on my slicktop again. But yeah...looking forward to pics. I don't care how the car looks. I have put pics of my Z primered with spray paint. lol And he still looks like that. And I drive him daily.

I should have figured the aviation guy would know his elevation! How many times have you pre-flight checked and set your altimeter by now? lol. Bleach, nismo and the others are all quite knowledgeable, and post more frequently than me, to boot. I love the high compression set up. Qualitatively, it has plenty of power, and the cam has a nice behavior (not too peaky for street and highway, we'll see about the track). I like the sound, too. With the header and exhaust, the cam has a nice rumbly idle and it's amazing when wound up. I can't remember a single drive where someone didn't wave, smile, thumbs up, or something. I can't wait to do some tuning on a dyno, and get some real data. I do have to use high octane. But it's not that much more expensive than regular, and I get about 23 mpg or so at the moment. I'm very glad I built it this way. It's pure fun!Anyway, enjoy, and welcome back to Z ownership! Hope the new project treats you well!
cheers,
Dave
hahaha... i set it to the baro pressure when in the plane listening to the AWOS and as long as its within 75 feet of field elevation its good to go! lol and RB is a future plan. also after talking to my dad and my cousin where im getting the car dolly from. seems like wed is now the official day to get it..... i hate these jumping around days
well ladies, got the Z today. i found lots of hidden rust and it isnt worth my time. but it has a perfect dash in it!!!! i mean PERFECT ORIGINAL DASH!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i got the car for free. i am going to part this one and put the money towards another Z purchase. how much should i get for the dash i know they go for alot if they are original and in mint condition but i was curious as to what exactly would be a fair starting asking price.
oh and ill get pics up tomorrow probably its dark now

I would salvage ALL the usable parts and scrap the rest...Keep everything good, dash, glass, lights...whatever you can think of. It might make things easier if you find a great body but shoddy interior...several parts make a whole.
i forgot to take pictures didnt i? ........sigh...... im going to find what parts people will want and then junk it its got to much rust for me to say its worth fixing without being able to fab stuff myself. oh well!
