Anyone old enough to appreciate thise...

...Nickleback's "photograph". Very suggestive. Good tune! Listen to the words, and you'll like it...

Especially the older guys...

WildmaN 10-27-2006 03:21 AM

I did like it, until they played it so many friggin' times. I got sick of it, but before that, it was a decent song. I swear the radio sucks sometimes, with overplaying a song too much.:075:

entropy31 10-27-2006 06:33 AM

ugh, sorry, i dont care for nickelback. they recycle songs. and the singer sounds constipated. just my opinion.

y2daniel1981 10-27-2006 06:59 AM

i like old old old nickleback, pre-how you remind me. I like their old old old song Leader of Men.

But yes that photograph is very suggestive and I have noticed it. I've also notices how they've overplayed every Nickleback song since how you remind me

SHADY280 10-27-2006 07:11 AM

nickleback, aka chad cruger, lives in abbotsford, b.c my home town!! he drives his lambo through town all the time, when he stops for gas you can usually get his autograph. he did just get charged for driving under the influence tho!!

Riz Z Speed 10-27-2006 04:44 PM

you've identified your first problem, you listen to the radio.
I avoid the radio for the most part. I might listen to the radio as a last resort for boredom. Keeps all the songs fresh for me lol.

CanyonCarver 10-27-2006 05:08 PM

WTF is nickleback?

i agree with E on this...nickleback is umm...... how do i put this nicely..... TERRIBLE!!! lol... i listen to the radio only for new song ideas....other than that i cycle threw CD's and junk. used to have a PSP in my Z32 that had tons of songs...sold the car...lost the psp (i think it was stolen actually) motha fawkers....

jfairladyz 10-27-2006 05:28 PM

you mean people still us that ancient technology of transmitting sound frequencies over FM wave lengths for the enjoyment of music in ones automobile? WOW! And to think, all this time I've been using my mp3 player  Radio doesnt just play songs out, but they play so much whack crap it's not worth the effort to seek through the stations. I gave up on radios just after the turn of the century.

And not all Nickelback is bad. I've got 'Photograph' in my playlist Carl ;)

y2daniel1981 10-27-2006 05:31 PM

yeah once i got my mp3/wma player in the car, it was game over when it came to the radio

Bleach 10-28-2006 09:59 AM

I never keep up on newer music because I'm stuck in my own little MP3 world... and its only about 2 gigs

I do like a couple soungs from Nickleback though.

wow, I'm gald I'm not the only one stuck in the mp3 world.

I never listen to the radio, or watch mtv, etc.... why do that with 20gb of mp3s at your fingertips :)

I have heard like 2 songs from Nickelback, I think this was one of em....it was pretty good.

RodMoyes 10-29-2006 12:07 PM

I don't listen to "traditional" radio much anymore either. I have XM Sat/Rad (Which totally kicks azz) in my Z and an MP3 player so...

Rod.

Oh yeah,
I almost forgot the whole point of the thread...

I can relate to the song,
I liked Them for about 3 days in 2001 until they got WAY overplayed,
and...
NickleBack Sucks.

y2daniel1981 10-29-2006 07:41 PM

I'm telling you, look up their song Leader Of Men. It's their best song IMO. It's also some of their very early work. I'm not a fan of Nickleback, but this song rocks (listening to it right now)

i8acobra 11-01-2006 06:02 PM

I like some of their songs. As for commercial radio, it sucks. This is the reason I bought Sirius stock long before they even went on the air. I'm waiting for someone to invent commercial-free pay TV. Oh wait, somebody already did. They called it "cable TV" when I was a kid.

z-hag 11-02-2006 07:29 AM

so, in fitting my boat with the most practical and space saving and best sounding equipment that is able to receive or produce sounds of my own choosing--not someone else's idea of enjoyable music--when i wanna hear blues, man, i wanna hear BLUES--what should i install/obtain/purchase/?

right now i have a car stereo mounted in my main saloon and 2 poor quality speakers--someone blew, prolly listening to easy lissnin helevator music while doing varnish at the dock--way long time before i bought this boat.

jfairladyz 11-02-2006 12:04 PM

^ I know I've got my Cracker Jacks secret decoder around here somewhere...

Z Car Barbie 11-02-2006 12:10 PM

Hmmm, Nickleback ... I've heard the name, but don't recognize the song. Is there a music clip link somewhere?

jfairladyz 11-02-2006 12:12 PM

On the right side of the page is a little video/sound player. Just click play. Its poor quality so it'll load up quick ;)

Or: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Za_xgYogSfg for the whole video (but if you're on dial up that one might take a bit)

Z Car Barbie 11-02-2006 12:22 PM

Oh, thanks, J! I've never heard that song before, but, then again, me a dance and rap kinda girl. :D Nickelback sounds similar to Hootie and the Blowfish to me. :paranoid:

now listen to 10 more of their songs and you'll swear that you're still listening to the same song :D Thats the problem with Nickelback...it all sounds the same.

Z Car Barbie 11-02-2006 12:32 PM

Hahaha! I think I'll just stick with Snoop, 50 Cent and Yang Yang. ;)

old enough to... ?! Jeez, now I feel old. Still, you couldn't pay me to be under 25. That song's only from 2001, "The State" album. In any case, thanks for the reminder. Good tune. Would love to see your playlist, Carl.
As long as we're all sharing current songs in our heads, here's mine. I was just looking up some punk stuff. Here's what caught my ear today: "Lean On Sheena", Bouncing Souls. Yes, it's a cover, but Avoid One Thing's original just never did it for me. Epitaph makes a lot of songs available for free. http://www.epitaph.com/artists/album/481 They've got the above song and "The Gold Song" available for free. Hey, a couple of free MP3's, legally. Try it. Like it, hate it, keep it, delete it.

Sirius. You can get a lifetime subscription for $550. They don't advertise it though. You have to ask for it. That's what I got.

z-hag 11-02-2006 09:06 PM

I hope so. I know I'm old at over 30, but didn't think I'd hit "ancient" yet. That's 40. :048:

I believe it's only the contiguous states plus about 15 to 20 miles off-shore.
