Just bought this 1990 its turboless with a cold air kit and exhaust its in really good shape i plan on pulling the motor and tranny and want about 600hp.
and want to do this for under 10g so i guess im looking for advice on motor tranny selection clutch ecu ect.

also the vg30de in this old girl has a rough idle,draw on the alternator from climate control causes the idle to go up around 1500rpm and when i turn the climate control off drops to 700 and bounces around to 800 and back down feels like a miss or like its going to stall but soon as I apply the gas she runs like a dream smoothly then if you try to maintain a certain speed the car starts to do weird **** go away when you accelerate or take your foot off
then I started to smell pure fuel!??????

I think maybe the fuel rail is leaking! but i see no leakyleaky
I think that might be the constant speed jerkyness problem

I just want to fix this problem before i sell this motor to help out with the new one! I heard these are common issues just looking for advice before paying someone for it.

You should run codes on ECU or possibly your MAF sensor is acting up my car had simmilar problems and I found out the MAF was working improperly (new MAF fixed all problems) but I didn't find out until after I changed the fuel pump (wasted $$). All my problems started just like yours then boom can't even drive. Idle'd fine but stalls as soon as I accellerate I have a 90' N/T.
