I have a '73 240Z i need to get rid of unfortunately. I'm in the military, and just got orders pretty much out of the blue to Guam, so she has to go.
the motor is out of a 260, and has a 4 speed tranny, and dual Weber Carbs. all this was done by the previous owner, when I bought it, it was overheating, so i replaced the entire cooling system, 2 core american eagle aluminum radiator, dual 12 inch fans, new water pump, new thermostat, thermostat housing, and cover. I replaced the clutch kit, and though what I have in there works fine, its not what was in there originally... i couldn't find a clutch kit with a "tall" enough pressure plate, so i got the closest I could find, and machined a new slave cylinder pin to close the gap. All told, she runs great, and I was about to start on body work when I got my orders.
the body is where the problems lie. The driver side door sill is rotted through in a few places, and should be replaced. the rear hatch needs to be replaced, as the previous owner pretty much ripped it off the hinges. the frame of the hatch is fine, and the hinge attachment points on the body are strong, but the hatch itself rotted around the securing points, and broke free. the previous owner said he replaced the passenger side floor, but it looks like he did a shitty job. And the previous owner, for whatever reason, painted it flat black, either it was primer, and they were going to paint it, or what, I don't know, but the body should be perfect before it's painted right?
I paid 3K for it, and with the work I did, I am looking for 4K, the car and I are in Norfolk, VA right now, and if not sold I will be taking it to Albany NY in about 3 weeks and trying to sell it there. If anyone is interested in it please feel free to PM me.
