uys it's 11:00PM here in Edison and My fiancee and I just got back from VIR. I'm posting some pics hope this works out. I had a great time. I gotta tell you guys, the Z is incredible on the track. You do not know what the car can do unless you take it to the track even with the stock tires, grip was awesome. I refrain myself from getting the toyo proxes-t1-s before I went down there and I'm so glad I did. In any case, enjoy the pictures

I never get tired of looking at a Z on a track!
Some questions though, first, are those numbers on the side of the car made with non-marring tape? I hope! Who's in the car with you? Did they have to be in the car with you? What lap times did you post considering you said you did well for a novice? Why the addition of the gloves later on?

Well this was not considered racing. It was more like High performance driving. Watches were not allowed on the track because the isurance companies would consider it racing and if something happened to the car, they would not cover it.
On my right was the instructor teaching me the ropes on the track
He was tracking my performance based on how fast I was entering and exiting the corners and at the end of the two days sessions, He told me that I was averaging 20mph faster through the sweepers.

The gloves were given to me by a friend of mine who is a racer. He told me that The gloves would provide my with better grip with teh steering wheel and the shifter. And inded it made a hell of a difference. So I went out the next day and bough a pair of racing gloves for 120$.

I have to agree with you on that. I'm amuhc better driver now then before I went to the event. But where you really feel the difference is when taking corners. I now know the correct ways to approach, enter and exit a turn without upsetting any cars balance. You would be amazed at the amount of information that was passed from instructors to students. And it goes without saying, The Z is a lot more credible car than we give credit to. Regular streets and roadways does not do the car justice. Driving this car on the track makes you appreciate the car more. My next event is March 5th at summit point West virginia. This time I'm allowed more track time (2 hours per day) for three days. I cannot wait for this event. I'm getting the Z ready again. Although I have only put 1000 miles for the VIR trip and the event, I'm changing the OIL and putting new brake pads all around. The bridgestone stock tires still has 85% of the treads still remaining so I'm going to get a lot out of them before I switch to the Toyo proxes t1-s or the Pilot sports PS. I've added a pop charge since I came back from the event and will nto be doing any real mods yet until I learn the full potential of the car (and trust me, the limits are extremely high in stock form. This can only be experience at the track).
