If God meant for the Z car to have 8 cylinders, it would have been born that way!!!!! Or, at the very least... If Mr. K meant for the Z car to have 8 cylinders... You get the idea.

You guys are all close-minded purists. Nothgin wrong with that. I, on the other hand, would love to see it. I'm a car enthusiast who specializes in Z's . I'd like to see it if you really want to.

N/A to TT

Hey what's up yall. It's about that time to start gathering the necessary parts for my conversion project. I have a '90 300zx n/a and would like to know what are all the parts (besides the obvious engine swap) I need for this project. My goal is to get it up to around 500hp when complete (hopefully by summer). Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think not...

But, If it floats your boat... Go for it. I'd personally be more likely to put a Nissan motor in a chevy though. Actually, that would be cool. I'm gonna buy a great big lifted, 44" Mud Terrain, Six chrome shocks per wheel having CHEVY truck with a "Metal Mulisha" sticker across the back window and a confederate flag waving off the antenna and drop a NISSAN TITAN motor in it... That way, I can be a redneck with a reliable truck

search around to know what to get for the swap some. Here's the parts for the swap:
http://twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.asp...&msg_id=699268
You may also want to replace other parts along the way so include those as well. Also, check the stage charts to find out what mods you need for 500hp. If you mean at the crank....sport 500 turbos, 555cc injectors, and larger intercoolers will easily get you there, if you mean at the wheels, you can get there with the same combo, but it'd be easier with a sport 600 or larger turbo setup.

Actually, a big plus to at least an ls1 swap is the reliability they offer compared to many japanese motors. the ls1 is extremely reliable and since the ls7 motor is built on the same platform, I'd imagine it's reliable as well. Also, the SBC motor is a dead reliable motor.

I would not recommend doing a swap if you don't have any mechanical experience.

Yea i agree if you have no mechanical expierence then this is not the job for you. Get somebody who knows what their doing and help them out otherwise you'll be setting yourself up for failure. Changing the engine is half the problem.

First, remove every screw and hose you see, start pulling parts off, and removing other screws as they become visable. Eventually, ur engine will 'come' out.....

that's the one I was going to link (and the one I used for my first time).

HOWEVER, in that writeup, it specified removing all the accessories. To make it easy on yourself, do NOT remove the power steering pump or alternator, just disconnect them (it'll save you over an hour in total, not having to remove them or put them back on). You'll need to remove the AC compressor for clearance though, but leave it connected in the engine bay so that you don't lose your refrigerant (which is also a felony, by the way).

And I agree with them... if you have no experience with this stuff, you are not going to be able to complete a Twin Turbo swap. Take the engine out of a Geo or something a few times first, because trying to convert a Z32 to TT without any previous knowledge is like a highschool student performing open-heart surgery... it just makes sense to learn what you're doing and have some experience with it before you do it.

Well I have done 5 complete swaps on honda civics. But as you know a civic is super easy to work on. What do you guys think of paying $3000 to do the labor on a twin turbo swap with new headers, testpipes, chipped ecu, and nitrous.

Hell, I'd pay for that deal, assuming the parts are all ready to go in. Some TT swaps have gone in excess cost of the value of all those parts, labor, and engine combined. If you've already got the motor, and all the parts, IMO 3k sounds reasonable.

I'm assuming headers means manifolds....how about upgraded turbos, intercoolers, etc. You won't get too much gain from just manifolds.

it's a hard swap...but goes in without too many major modifications. there's just a lot to it.
