Are these air guides for something? I can't install my intercoolers because they are in the way. A write-up on TT.net for the HKS intercoolers says to remove them. I have Stillen IC's. Will it hurt anything if I remove them?

 

I'm pretty sure those are the resirculation lines for the Resirculation valves. those practically replace yor blow off valves. so If youput BOVS they should go away.

 

They are air guides and connect to the OEM air filter. If you are installing a POP charger unit (highly recommended) then these are abandoned and can be removed. My 96 has a intake air sensor in the passenger one right behind the marker lens, so keep an eye out for yours!

 

Except for what lightspeed said, they serve no purpose once the stock air box is removed. I left mine in because they do help direct more air to my k&n.

 

Ok good. I already have a POP charger. I took it off so water wouldn't get on it while I have my bumper off. Thanks guys!

Looks like a good time to install a Z1 oil cooler. I don't know how big the tranny coolers are, but you could possibly mount it in front of the oil cooler. Way in front; otherwise it'll get in the way of the POP charger.
