hey i need help there is a weird buzzing/lite knockin, noise coming from either under the timing cover or under the intake manifold its a n/a so if any1 could help me i would appreciate it greatly p.s its not the valves i know what a valve knock sounds like

 

VTC springs maybe. try and be a bit more descriptive.

 

its your timing belt falling apart

 

i was told that it could b my lifters but im not sure ...... n it dosent sound like a belt

 

just to be safe, pull off one of the timing covers and inspect the belt a little to make sure it hasnt stretched,,,

 

the first thing i think of is an idler pulley. its good to replace these when you do the timing belt, but a lot of people don't. also my N/A had a similar sound in unison with very rough running and after tearing it down i believe that it was carbon build up on the valves. they wern't even closing all the way.

 

n ya it might b that cuz it does have a rough idle but i think thats cuz of my aftermarket cams

they were in when i got the car but i bought it from a buddy of mine n i helped him put them in but im not sure but i think they r NISSAN VG30DE/VG30DETT 256 DEG X 9.3 LIFT.... if it doesnt sound right let me know cuz im not sure witch is y im askin u guys
