Turbo/BOV

Due to the fact that converting a NA to TT is costing so much money, I wonder is there a way to get a bov (ppppssshhhh) sound without swap for a TT? I just love the sound that the bov gives off... Can I just get a Bov and install it or something? If anyone has better knowledge on this can I please get your advice... thanks a lot...

First you must attach this to your car.

A BOV will NOT work without a turbo.
But if you MUST have that sound, there is some piece of crap speaker thing on ebay that "simulates" the bov sound. IMO, save your money for something that actually improves your car instead of cheapening it. That and the whistle thing you put in your exhaust to simulate a turbo whine have got to be two of the tackiest things you can do to a car.

Yes there is a BOV noise maker that mounts in your exhaust, but your friends will make fun of you...

Don't tell him that.. I'd rather have him rice out an N/A than ruin a TT.

^^^ I'll agree with that.

If you really want the BOV sound on your N/A, then you should go all the way with it and get the turbo exhaust whistle. It makes your N/A sound like a turbo. I've seen them on ebay.

Does anyone else find it disturbing that his main motivation for getting a TT would be so he could have the BOV sound?

Thats one of three reasons I want a TT in my slicktop:
- The CRAZY rush of turbos spooling
- The respect that a twin turbo commands from other tuners
- And of course the symphony of sounds created by turbos spooling and the BOV

Just save your $ until you can afford a TT. The BOV and turbo spoolup noise makers are so friggin' gay they should be outlawed. It's a shame to even consider doing something like this to a Z.

Welcome Newb. I would say that we were pretty gentle in our responses to your question. I wouldn't say that you got flamed here. In case you're interested, try posting your question on some of the other forums.

Well, you've learned a valuable lesson. Now let us never hear of the BOV noise makers again
