Tomei Poncams?

Anyone using these or have good info on them? Still at 8.5mm lift, apparently a good all round cam.

cant find much on them at all

have you looked into JWTs R4 set or a Jun cam?

jwt mild cams

Ight honestly I'm not tryin to jack dudes thread just he was on the subject of cams and wanted to see if anyone has used the jwt mild cams....and if so can you guys let me know would I benifit from them

b300z 01-11-2007 02:12 PM

benefit? more action in the upgraded cams powerband. probably gain around 20whp+ and 10wtq+ with a stronger top end. tuning is neccessary

milds are really only worth getting with stock turbos. imo, i would get 400s if you have the money tho. if youre upgrading turbos, get something to better match your expected output

Greenline have a not too bad deal on Poncams, have looked at the JWT options but they don't suit. Really there is bugger all choice and price around for this sort of stuff for the VG, strange.

So 260det wat currency is that in......it seems like sumthing I might b intrested in u know.....but I'm a budget bulder don't wanna spend outragous money on da name and could get da same performance out of the other product that is known also but not cost to much ......so I know JUN and Tomie ant even cheap but their worth lookin at.

b300z 01-12-2007 10:24 PM

dont forget shipping from asia

260DET 01-13-2007 01:41 AM

Those Greenline prices are in yen, they include shipping to AU, not sure about USA.

Anyway a local cam grinder says they have some billets, if so my problem will be solved. Also looking at converting the stock cam wheels to adjustable. If that all falls through then the Poncams seem to be the go.

yes, if it is in good condition, it will do fine around 600whp. i dont know too much about aftermarket turbos yet, so hopefully zlover, or someone else can pick up on that.
i do think that a 400 or 400+ would work well with a turbo rated for 5-600hp. for turbos around there...theres jwts 530, 600, z1s gt600r, gt675rs, greddys td-05 kit, hks' gt2530s, and plenty more. do some searching on tt.net for feedback from the different turbos.

along with what you listed here a while back, youll need some bigger injectors(740cc), valve springs and vtc springs for the larger cam, larger exhaust manifolds, larger cooling components(rad and smics)

youll also see a nice hp and tq jump on top of those mods with a correct tune.
throw in cutouts instead of test pipes and catback and have a quiet zleeper if you want, and a hell of a beast after the push of a switch.
