Oh, I get it. Damn, that's a lot of work and dinero. Haven't we talked about it being more economical to just buy a TT instead of converting an NA? Did he miss that thread?

Um, according to my math, it's way less expensive to buy a TT than to buy and NA and convert it to a TT. We've been over this numerous times.

Did you look at the link? I think it can go both ways, sometimes it's gonna cost more to do the swap, sometimes it's gonna be cheaper to buy a TT. In the guy in the link's case, it was MUCH cheaper for him to do the swap.

It can go both ways, it depends on who you know and what you're capable of.

Being able to do all your own labor helps tremendously also. A front clip is good if you just want to throw all the stock stuff in and go. I think it'd be better in the long run to get the basics (engine, harness, ecu) and upgrade the rest. This is best for a tt or an installer who has done a few na to tt swaps though. If you don't know where all the odds and ends go then you'll be SOL. That's where a front clip is helpful. If you need to see where something goes, you have a huge visual reference.

I'm pretty sure that I've said all this before. I could be wrong cuz no one has really asked this before.

damn this moved fast....first Nismo Elise came in 4,6,and 8 cylinder twin turbos, same body style. the reason i wanna do the swap is because i love this Z...it's 4 am right now, and i am finishing up with my interior. i bought the car for cash, and i plan to do the same with a tt clip...the clip i am looking at comes with engine and stock turbos, tranny, harness and ecu. i am not ready to buy it yet Nismo, but thanx....you'll be the first one to know

I looked everywhere for an Elise that came with anything above a 4 cyulinder and the only other thign I could find other than the 4 was one that was not out yet, but was coming out. It would be outfitted with a toyota V6. Adn niether the 4 or 6 would be turbo. Prove me wrong, I wanna see the specs on a TT V6 Elise. If that NA 4 banger cold do 0-60 in 4.9 along with all those other impressive specs in that link I provided earlier..I wonder what more power would do in a car like that!

Drop in a j30 drivetrain! In Japan the j30 is powered by a VG30DETT... FWD version! Its what we dropped into our Maxima project car. Although the turbos are restricted to only push the engine up to 265hp, it can be modded easily. Good idea? . Its cool dude, we have plenty of clips, so if you ever need any parts, or engine parts, or a whole damn car for that matter, gimme a shout! Peace foo's

Are you sure it was an Elise and not an Esprit. The esprit came with a V8TT.

i know my bad emo....bc i know you were surfing all over for that....and besides new elise will have a celica gt-s tranny....i mean come on it's a lotus. if you can't afford it then don't buy it. i know that car is way out of my budget, so i don't even consider it. but i would expect lotus to be a super car, but instead they just made a modded mr2...which is the ugliest car on the planet....well the new mr2 at least....i liked the older one

Dude those are just the specials, click over on make, and part. That NSX is nice as hell isnt it? Freshly imported along with 7 other cars! He flew to Japan, and picked out a few. But I think your right, I dont think hes got the pic on there yet. I'll hound him! haha, but bro im going over there next summer, heres me and Camerons deal:

Cameron: "Work for me for one summer, and we'll build Samhain together, and get you some sponsors, deal?"
Watson: "What type of work we talking here?"
Camern: "Building Skylines, taking in orders, shipping out... Things such as that, fun stuff."
Watson: "DEAL! Haha"

So basically I get to have fun for a whole summer, and get my Skylne outta it, good deal eh? Be fun. Peace foo's
