Short Throw Install Question

I've searched quite a bit and am not finding the answer I'm looking for. I'm trying to take the $od damn shift *** off so I can install a short throw shifter and it doesn't want to move. I can get about a quarter turn and then the shift boot starts to turn with it. Am I doing it wrong? I don't want to mess anything up.

I can't seem to loosen the ****. I can pull on it harder, but I don't want to break anything.

wrap a rag around it and get a pipe wrench on it... that's the most common trick

Here's an abstract concept... "be careful." As long as you're not grinding on the ****, no, you won't damage it. (Nice and dirty-sounding... just how I like it.)

I don't know if it's all done but if it's the Z1, there's plenty of instructions here (including photos):http://upload.z1motorsports.com/Z1%2...ons%201207.pdf

and pics here:

Ya, I found those. The instructions suck. The pictures are kind of useful but would be nice if they were followed by a written description. They tell you to take off parts, but don't tell you that you need a damn plumbing wrench. Some of the bolts are so hard to get to that you basically need someone you want to hit on stand by. I got the whole shifter out, then broke the little rubber boot you need to reuse. I ordered one from the local dealer, but it won't be here till next week.

I finished it on Tuesday, but had to go to Dallas for work. What a pain in the ***, but what a difference. Well worth the effort of putting it in. Now I'm thinking about doing some Stillen intercoolers. Concept Z has them for 750.00 right now. Does anyone know what modifications you have to make to install them?

Virtually none. When you buy them from Coz, they come with the connectors required to make the turn signals fit. So it's simply remove fascia, remove old intercoolers, bolt in new intercoolers, splice in new bulb connectors, put fascia back on.

btw, this was worthy of a new thread, since the subject is far removed from the initial post.
