its been awhile since ive been on here, so please forgive me if this has been posted already. i have noticed that my car has a really bad weezing sound everytime i drive. its usually when the rpms start to creep up. a buddy of mine had said that the turbos might be goin out. i also have a very messed up idle. it fluctuates from below 1000 to 2000 rpms . he said that might have to deal with either the pvc valve, aic, or egr. i know im probably going to end up being deep in expenesive territory, but i just wanted to know if it is about right for this to happen, seeing how the car has 130.000 miles on it. i just dont want to be paying all this freaken cash if the cause of all this is just a simple vacuum or boost leak. if this is the case how do you go about checking that. can i do this on my own? i do have a service manual but i am limited on the tools that i have. (im just waiting for SEARS to have a blow out sale or something) but if this problem is minor please help me out guys!

 

sounds like an air leak to me just from a quick glance of your post.

 

idle problem prolly a leak.
wheezing sound might be the recirculation valves.

 

Sounds like a nasty vacuum/boost leak. Those can be hard to find.
