there are no really "special procedures" except taking one bolt at a time. what i found useful when i was putting my pulleys on is to take the radiator out ( mine is pretty big, so it takes up a lot of room) so you have extra room to work.and then you can put new coolant in it anyway, and change your oil while you are under there. what can i say i take care of my baby . back to the subject, after you loosen up the bolts you'll see that some pulleys will be able to slide, and then you can take the belts off. when you put them back on make sure they are tight, but not too tight or too lose, or you'll get that nasty driving belt noise. what i do with my belts every time before i install them, i spray them with belt dressing so it prevents premature wear, and belt noise. except the crank pulley this project shouldn't take you more than 3 hours total. Good luck and i hope this helps

Sure does man!

Sure does! I just wanted to make sure that there was no special procedure, becuase I thought it would be my luck. Haha. Im buying all new belts and pulleys though, going underdrive . I dont think that you are familiar with my project, hehe. I have the radiator out, the shroud off, the fan off, the radiator hoses out(ones which lead into water pump), have cam covers off, have complete wire harness off, cut all dry rotter tubing off, have plenum off, have fuel rail off... Shes getting all aftermarket parts (i.e HKS spark plugs, NISMO 740cc injectors, AEM Fuel rail and presure regulator, hard fuel delivery tubing, etc. etc.) so its gonna have some more VRRROOOOOOOM to it here in a little. Too bad shes automatic though... *Tear* haha. Im trying to get at the heads, two or more valves are destroyed, so theyre getting reworked by Z1, and hopefully I can get enough money so I can put some Jun cams in. Haha, nice project eh? peace foo's

Looks like you're droppin' some good change into the car. Why don't you save your $ and buy a TT? That's the most bang you can get for your $. If you're installing underdirve pulley's, a T-belt may be a good idea. When was your last 60k service?

Oh, and if you upgrade to a TT, make sure you get a 5 speed. Just an FYI.

Well a TT's insurance for a 17 year old... Equals NOT CHEAP! . Plus I dont need that turbo to kick in spontaniously when ever I take a turn... Haha just messin. Anyways, im not letting this car go, im putting all this sweat and blood into this thing, its staying MINE. But im estimating about 2000-2500 for all these parts I have my eye on. My boss (at Night Szevyn Racing {night7racing.com}) wants me to drop in an RB20DET, hes gonna do the work for free, but I need to come up with about 2g for the clip and instal parts... Good idea? But I think for now, VG will work. Anyways, if anyones got any more bright ideas on any more mods I can do, gimme a shout.

O, and if anyone knows where I can find this hard fuel/oil piping, gimme a shout (with red/blue endings, and braided lines) peace foo's

i hear that nismo. my first car was a 1990 300zx black with chrome wheels. this one was N/A. then i had a 1991 TT, then another 1991 black z n/a and now i have my perfect z a 1991 na. i am 21 now and this is the z i am keeping for sure. and let me tell you a thing or two about insurance....it blows. i've been paying in blood since i was 16, but i would rather sweat blood and drive a z than have a lower insurance and drive a civic, and what is insurance on those anyway, a handfull of rice???

Haha

Never drive a Civic personally, Z is worth the money, worth the blood, worth the effort to get it running... It will be fun though, 1990 Red 2 Seater, your normal 300ZX Z32, the only mod I am planning to do exterior wise is a TT front bumper, TT decklid, and im going to bondo out the bumpy sections on the bumpers and side skirts, and get rid of the molding... Nothing to extreme, im into clean cars... Then you pop the hood... WOAH. Haha, thats what im going for . But I think it will be extra special if 20 years from now I still have my "Redbird" (my little pet name for it) and I can look at it, and remind myself of how much work it took to get my first car running, and how sweet it was after the months of blood and sweat... Cars are more than peice's of metal welded together... In essence cars are in a way, us too. Dig? Wow im pretty senti-mental for a kid, hahahaha, Peace foo's

I can understand that. My best friend has a Ford Taurus SHO (a high performance taurus for those who don't know). It's a pretty nice car if you like that style, I guess and it has 225 hp...not too bad. But he's put so much money and sweat into that car. He's put almost 12 grand into it. He realizes he could've sold it or not bought it and bought a car just the same, but a 5 spd and lower miles and aLOT better condition, but he's attached to THAT car.

Jesus Christ, I could almost see you two at about 65 years old, sitting together in rocking chairs ont he front porch, holding hands watching the sunset. Get a friggin' room. Ha-ha...J/K.

Wrecker- nice to see you've learned from your wreck

I agree with both of you, insurance sucks. I had changed my insurance from State Farm to American Express. They quoted me $1280/year. They sent me all the paperwork, but when I finally got my credit card bill for it, they hit me for almost $200 more than that. If I wanted to get raped I would've stayed with State Farm. I called them up to ask wtf? They said,....well, sir your car has very expensive parts and it just costs more to insure it. No ****in' **** lady, but you knew that when I was given the quote. The quote was worth little more than being used to wipe my *** with. Needless to say, I was refunded my full premium. I'm staying with Sate Farm for now. Damn insurance ****'s

Emo-If you think about it, isn't a high performance Taurus kind of an oxymoron? A friend of mine had an SHO. What a flaming POS. I'll never own a FORD. Well, maybe the GT, but sure as hell not at that price.

Enjoy the ride-

Just playin'. No harm/ no foul. Actually, I could see a homo driving a Z32. It would have to be N/A, automatic and purple with pink racing stripes. Notice I said could...I haven't seen one yet either.

I've seen a gay z32 driver. He was driving an NA and it was riced out to no end. Very gaudy. don't know if he was really gay but he gayified his car.
