Power Steering Problem

Power Steering Problem

I was driving around and i pulled up to a stop sign and went to make the turn and noticed i had no power steering. It just up and quit out. Now what might have caused this to happen, any ideas????

IS the bely still there? Was there any sounds? Give me all the info you can (before lose-after lose). Tell me what you did!

sorry for the lack of details i didnt think about it until an hour after i posted it. But i check the power steering fluid reservoir, it doesnt seem to be sucking any fluid. There weren't any strange clanking noises or anything of that sort. It's not leaking anything, the only thing i can think of is the power steering pump burnt out when i pulled up to the stop sign. It didnt make any noises when I pulled up to the stop sign or anything, I just stoped went to make the turn and found i was using my own force to turn the car. But I dunno, Im going to presume I need to put a new power steering pump, so im gonna have my friend see if he agrees with me than im gonna go buy the part, but if anyone disagrees please post

heres the short version. Go here http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi look up the ST section and read it. I think that it will shed new light on the subject. There are a lot of things that could caus the problem! After you do that let me know what you think and we can compair notes.

i bet you broke the power steering pump shaft. If you have changed any portion of your suspension or wheels it can put more of a strain on it

no actually i was dumb and i didnt do the most obvious thing of checking the surpentine belt. It had slipped back behind the pulley, I got if fixed now. But it i dont know how it slipped off in the first place. It suckd, but i fixed.
