One piece driveshaft

The two pc d/s with the staked in u-joints were put there to sell parts. I was offered a complete rebuild of the stocker, new uj's and brg. or a new one pc for $250CNN from a driveline spedialty shop. A new replacement from Nissan was almost $1000 inc taxes, I told them where to shove it.
With IRS and a fixed diff, why would they really need a 2 pc?
