Need somebodys help
OK I am in quite a wierd situation here. My technical know how of engines is very limited to say the least, but I do have the dream of owning a rather aggresive looking show car. For this I have choosen the 300zx 2+2 model because I like the look of the extended rear end (plus more space for a bigger sound system). I have at the moment 38 grand to play with for mods to this car. My question is along with the vg30dett engine what else would I have to replace on this stock car to get it up to and be able to handle around 500hp. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a dream come true. I wish I had that kind of money to throw into my car all at once.

OK after looking at the chart you provided on the upgrades I was wondering if it would be possible to just drop the vg30dett engine in it so I can upgrade as a TT and not a N/A. If that is possible is there anything else I would have to replace on it to handle the extra power. Please excuse my ignorance, but your help is greatly appreciated.
Well, a NA>TT swap isn't as simple as dropping the motor in. THere's more to it. The NA rear end is actually more preferable due to shorter gearing so you're good there. If you're going to make this a show car, you'll probably replace almost everything though. If you don't know much about mechanics, I wouldn't recommend attempting this swap by yourself. Also, with that money, you can afford an already fully build motor from SGP. I would go with that. Then do suspension. If you want a show/race quality coilover setup, PM me. Then big brakes (stoptech) and of course some wheels and some body stuff.
Well thanks for the help so far guys. Does this SGP have a website to view the built motors. I wish there was a website or place where I could get the NA>TT conversion and then add on a 500hp power pack like I saw on z1motorsports. I must admit though, that I know I am gonna be guilty of splurging and most likely drive this car on special weekends. So its not exactly gonna be just a show car. I was looking at suspensions earlier and read an interesting article by air ride technologies. They seem to have an adjustable air ride suspension that reduces roll and provides a smoother more resposive ride. Plus I like the idea of being able to adjust the hieght depending on driving conditions. Do ya'll (excuse my texas slang) think this is a good idea. Thanks again.
I would personally go with a coilover setup. You will have more adjustability and better performance. SGP does do swaps I believe, there are a bunch of shops that do actually. Their website is SGPracing.com
Give them a call and talk to them about your project. They can give good advice and also offer what they can offer. They are also located in Houston I believe.
