My update!
My update!
So the first week of owning the car, i had to replace the tranny..2nd gear went..(1200 dollars cdn)
then maybe 2 weeks after i got HIDS installed..and the car wouldn't start..it was flooding bad!, finally it started.
a week after that the car started missing consistently and power steering was GONE, so i took it to AMS, and i told them make a list of everything the car needed..
it needed 1 injector..EFI harness (old one was corroded)..a coolant temp sensor..new PWS line (old one was swelling) and a new PWS pump..and a few other small parts..
so he did the whole 98 Z injector upgrade with the Z1 adapters..and twin turbo EFI harness (he had one laying around, same as the N/A just had to plug a few wires), and PWS pump and HP line. While he was there i had him do the 60K timing belt kit from Z1 with the water pump, main seal. Also PCV valve kit from Z1.
everything ran me approximately 2900 dollars..and he did a VERY good job!, car runs like a clock.

sounds like a good price if all that was actually done. i was expecting about that much for the parts alone.
i tell people all the time, buying a z that's behind on maintenance is really a bitch. there are a lot of expensive parts. but if it's well maintained, they are very reliable.
so this is a different AMS then? not the AMS that sells cheap copied z parts, but one that does quality work on imports?

... if you're thinking of this AMS Performance
http://www.amsperformance.com
then considering he's in Toronto and that AMS is in Chicagoland, I'd say it's unlikely.
When you consider that AMS who rips off everybody's parts is in Ontario, I'd bet he went to them.
