Has anyone done it? Yes. When I worked at Ultimate Z, I had a customer call me and ask which spark plugs he should put in his NA. Since that's largely dependent on what mods you had, I asked him what he had done to his car. He told me he had performance mufflers and two of the tornado intake things. So I asked how those were working for him and he actually said he noticed a huge power increase and better fuel economy. I then explained that, based on the known laws of physics, that is not possible, and explained why, to which he responded with something like "...well, I noticed a difference..." Obviously he didn't buy spark plugs from me. Too bad, lost the sale.
lol, isnt placebo effect great. his car is going faster because he performed some weight reduction on his wallet buying those worthless things.

I was thinking placebo too. They cant work on the Z..and even if they did in say the intake tubes. Their spinngin air wouldnt do a thing once in reached the uppen plenum. It would just swirl air around aimlessly.

They can't work on any car. Not only would the butterfly valve straighten the air out once it got to the throttle body, but the intake plenum/manifold runners for each cylinder would split the air. Then, even if air were able to continue spinning through the cylinder head (which I just demonstrated that it wouldn't), the valves would split the flow again (especially on cars with multiple intake valves per cylinder, because it'd be split again between the two valves).
