Injen Intake

Does anyone here have an injen intake for their Z32? If so, hows the performance, and sound? Any better gas mileage?

performance...not much. > 5hp gained
sound...pretty cool, especially when you blip the throttle
mileage...isnt it like 1-5% more?
injen...expensive

you can try an ebay dealer...thats where i got my current one from. it was 50 bucks + shipping. the only problem i had were that the hoses were poorly packed and had a few kinks.

Injen Cold Air Intake

I agree with b300Z. I have a '90 2+2 Z32 that I installed the Injen Cold air intake. Slight HP increase, 2.3 mpg increase, sound? I didn't notice any difference in sound because I have a 3 in. exhaust system with Flow Master mufflers
I also own a '93 Z32 Coupe NA. I went to Ebay and bought the short ram cold air intake for about $20.00 plus shipping. When you look at the installation on a Z32, there is no way that you can have a short ram version. The $20 version is identical to my Injen except for the lack of the logo on the couplings and the color of the hoses . I got mine with kinks in the hoses as well. I had to get creative in order to get them out, and keep them out. I shopped around when I bought the Injen cold air intake and got it for about $200, which I thought was pretty good price, until I got my $20 unit!
Hope that this helps!

So how would you compare the generic Ebay intake to a name brand like Injen? Does it sound the same still? Quality filter, and pipes?

its gonna sound the same no matter what kind you get

as far as quality...injen will be the best

i found this out when i ordered from a company, not on ebay, and they sent me 2 of the same shaped pipes. we tried to work something out, but they said we didnt know how to install it properly and we never got a hold of them again.

my ebay pipes look good and fit good, but as you should already know, you are almost always taking a gamble with ebay

Sound is the same

Like said before, there is no difference in the sound, and they look identical except for the color of the hoses and logo missing. I bought a BOMZ Racing short ram intake for my '93. I didn't notice any difference in the Injen that I have on my '90 and the BOMZ Racing on my '93, except the hoses, which I mentioned before. My suggestion is to go with the BOMZ racing and save your money!

i got the injen in my car. there was a difference in sound, like a louder sucking sound comming from the front.

but i agree with everyone else to go with what ever kit is cheap. i would have. to me, they all do the same job.
