Injectors.

SGPRACING.com told me that stock injectors are fine in the VG30DE... WTF?!?! Riz, whats the deal here dude?

emo236 01-20-2004 05:02 PM

I believe they are until you want to heavily upgrade. They do seem to crap out after 100K+ mi or so though(hit or miss)..if thats what you mean.

91zxtt 01-20-2004 05:20 PM

The stock injectors are fine up until about 400-450 horsepower. They really won't benefit you until you reach that point. Save your $.

Riz Z Speed 01-20-2004 06:34 PM

Did I say otherwise?
Stock is just fine if you just wanna get your car up and running.
I'm going to have to disagree with 91zxtt on this one though. Primarily because we are talking about an N/A for starters. The first upgrade in injectors for an N/A is TT injectors. Until you go twin turbo there shouldn't be any need for anything larger.

emo236 01-20-2004 06:49 PM

Well, you see, Rizz, me and 91 are just spoiled. We just assume that people are on an egual plain with us and start out with TT injectors...JK JK JK:D . No, I'm not that pompous...but I think 91 is just used to a TT...his statement was correct as far as a TT goes.

typeaproduction 01-20-2004 07:24 PM

so a good upgrade on a n/a is to put TT injectors in?

NISMO LMR 01-20-2004 07:28 PM

Doesnt that require an ECU upgrade? And Riz I never said you did, I was asking for help BOOOY. Haha, Riz is a member of the "Brown Mafia" you gotta watch out, he dont play yo, he pop a cap in yo ass mutha foocka. haha. Peace foo's :p

94EmeraldZ 01-20-2004 09:30 PM

Rizz, what is the reason for getting the bigger injectors... i have the TT injectors but there only 100cc more... i just had gotten them because my old ones crapped out. I never really understood why such a small upgrade would help? Technically if your going to big you could flood your engine unless you have other fuel things changed... fuel rail fuel pump fuel lines etc... just an area in the car i dont know to much about... Does it matter on power?

Thanks:)

emo236 01-20-2004 11:52 PM

It won't immediately give you gains, but it will allow you to gain more through other mods. Just like with every other mod, if you don't have enough fuel to match it, it won't be any good. 100cc's is a lot. I don't know how to explain it well...Rizz will.

NISMO LMR 01-21-2004 01:06 PM

Speaking of fuel rails... Where can I find aftermarket rails? I inquired with SGP, he said there wasnt anything really. Also, thats a good point, will TT injectors flood the combustion chamber? Peace

91zxtt 01-21-2004 10:18 PM

My bad...I was wrong. TT injectors will help out, but as emo said, you won't feel it in the seat of your pants. It will give you minor gains on your other mods over what you would gain if you left the NA's in it.

Border racing injector/fuel rail kit 850cc $1446 @ SplParts.com

Larger injectors will not only be able to deliver larger amounts of fuel at the top end, they'll be more efficient at lower rpm's as well. When you raise the power levels, it becomes more difficult for smaller injectors to keep up with the higher power demands and tend to run at full cycle more often. This tends to burn them out quicker and shortens their lifespan. Larger injectors also help keep and stay at optimum air/fuel ratio better and longer at higher power levels.
