Hello everyone had a question
Hello everybody, new here, though I feel like asking a couple of questions here.
I am thinking of purchasing a 300zx (1991, black, manual, 2 seater) twin turbo. However their are some problems I find troubling.
-It recently had no inter-coolers (the owner got 1)
-From what he tells me the clutch or transmission is missing a bolt causing the part (I have no idea which one) to be slightly misaligned.
-It doesnt start, only after his friend drove it (in which then he lowered the price to $2000).
-Engine stalls at 5000 rpm.
I wanted to know with this above info if it would be worth it or not to fix it up. I read that inter-coolers cool the air going into the engine to prevent overheating? When it did work the car dies at 5000 rpm.
Is it possible that the engine itself has sustained damage, from what my limited understanding is that the car overheated (conjecture) and now it wont start? Which makes no sense since an engine overheat warning light or something would come on right?
I would like to take it to the tech which he charges $85 but it will probably be extra to transport.
I want to know your opinions on what could be wrong with the Nissan. I know that foreign cars (or my step-dad calls them "rice burners") are a hardy good vehicle. I don't know much more if the fuel filter was changed/spark plugs etc.
Thanks!
