Finally! able to her up. need help please.

I have had my Z for 3yrs now and I finally have the money to fix her up. I would really appreciate some help on what to buy. Thanks guys.
a) Want to buy turbos Something good afforadable and will be reliable and give me stock or no more then supporting 400hp.
b) A good clutch to support the power.
c) A good short throw shifter
d) Good tires for stock rims
e) electronic boost control
f) turbo timer
g) A good exhaust with a quiet sound only need this because I think my pipes are starting to rust (NY and its crappy weather!)

I am so happy I can finally afford to put money on the side for her! Thanks for the help guys. Also what are good spark plugs to buy want to change these soon. One more thing I hear a clicking noise coming from the rear when i first start out or when the car jults. Thanks for the help guys. I can't wait

If there's nothing wrong with your stock turbos, then keep 'em and install performance ECU from Z1, a hi-flow intake from Z1 and catback exhaust from Specialty Z. That will put you up to 400HP with a stock turbo @ 15 psi of boost. Use the Greddy Profec B boost controller.

As for the rest, I have no preference on the clutch and I don't know about the turbo timer. I like the Michelin Pilot Sports for tires.

Thanks for the help. The turbos are starting to go I think, although I'm not 100% sure. They have 100k on them

I have 150k on mine and they're original. What makes you think they're going? What kind of oil do you use? If you're not using synthethic, then you should consider it. Mobil 1 15w/50 syn is about the best you can buy.

Thats actually the exact oil I use in the summer. In the winter I've been using mobile one 10w/30. Well sometimes the stock gauge drops under neath the -14 mark on the stock turbo gauge and I feel she's not as fast as she use to be.

Underneath the -14 reading on the gauge??? The left side of the gauge?? The needle should only be there when you're at idle, or when your foot off of the gas. If you're at full throttle without a chip, then you should be at about 9psi (just below the 1st line in from the far right of the gauge). Check out the link in Rizzspeed's signature. Go to the site where it tells you things to look for when buying a Z. A section of that tells you about how you can tell the turbos are weak.

The only guage in your cluster that you should have no faith in is that turbo gauge. Whenever convienient, replace with aftermarket boost guage.
