Is it even possible?
Ok, knowing how complicated the VG30DETT's manifold is, Is it possible to put a supercharger on the Z? I have never seen or heard of it being done. If so who and where can I find it? I was thinking of buying a Z32 n/a and doing some Experimenting
I remember seeing one done that way on another forum. I believe that it's actually easier and cheaper to do the TT swap. If I remember correctly the performance gains were minimal as well. Definitely different though. I will look for it and post if I can find it.
LOL! Just another stupid idea that ran through my head last night not to mention I was doing a little drinking :chug: Agreed, turbocharging would be a hell lot cheaper and more relyable. Plus how in the hell are going to see over the hood? I am just going to stick with getting another Z32TT, screw it
Anything can be done. The Weiand roots type would be REAL hard considering the intake manifold on the Z. You could adapt a Jackson brand, Eaton type of roots supercharger a little easier. The best way to go would be with a Paxton / Vortech type of centrifugal supercharger. You could easilly (that's a relative word, huh) mount it in place of the A/C pump, or so. To do any of this you would need a WHOLE lot of money, or your own fabrication facility. Lucky for me, I have my own fabrication facility, and this is something I would do before I ever went to turbos. Mainly because everybody already has turbos and I've never tinkered with superchargers.
At the extremes, people are getting close to 20 psi with their superchargers and it's instantaneous.

i wonder how hard would it be to retro fit a stillen supercharger onto it. Even better, the HKS or ProCharger units would probabl be easier. All you would have to do is have some custom pipes made. And a bracket or two.
or make a custom plenum out of sheet metal so you could convert to single tb, the duals are to increase throttle response. I've even seen a custom ITB setup for a NA jdm drag car
anything is possible with some $$, but it would be cheaper to run like 5psi on stock TT mani's and turbos ont eh high compression motor and you'd get more out of it then with a supercharger.
Or spend $2500 on a front clip and have a nice low milage stock TT, assuming you already have exhaust and intake, you can tweak the boost up a bit and be well ahead of the game with easy HP ahead.
Youyou'll never get 280 rwhp out of a NA for under $2500 short of N20 but that's a dumb option on such a nice car/motor.

or drop the supercharged vg33e from the xterra/frontier it's bolt it pretty much, most just use the block and our dohc heads for a vg33de/TT
Id rather a Q45 motor they fit like a glove with some hood mods.

How do they have the car setup without the MAF unit?
Have any of you guys added an oil catch can to your cars? I ve heard they make the VGs smoke real bad. But he has one in the spot where the batt goes.

I've always used an oil catch can to reduce smoke. On older motors, when you get alot of blow-by past the rings, that oily air goes thru your pvc hose and back to the intake causing the smoke when the oil burns at combustion. With the catch can, you put you pvc hose into it so that the oil doesn't burn. I could be mistaken about your guys' term for catch can.
