engine trouble
I am looking at a 1992 300zx non turbo and it has 120,000 miles on it I was slightly worried about spending $8,000 on a car with that much mileage but it seems that may not be so bad. What I want to know is if there are any problems with the engines or how long they may run will it be a good engine that can break 200,000 or will it be dead by the time it hits 180,000 if anyone has any insight on this it would be very much appreciated. Or if there are any other things I should look for when buying this car. Thanks. -Kyle

Re: engine trouble
Kyle,
You will have to do the 60k maintenance again right out the gate, also you will need to think about a lot of different things at this time:
- bushing
- springs
- shocks
- rust
- tranny support
- clutch
- wheel bearings
Basically anything that rotates or shifts constantly, yah some of those may be extreme but it all depends on how the car was taken care of..
It sounds like an okay deal if you will be ready to sink money into if needed.. Remember the parts are not cheap as you know
