Engine Swaps
For all of those who are out there wanting to do a NA to a Turbo swap I have a few suggestions for you.
1 pay for a plane ticket over here and buy a 2+2 TT and import it back to the states. They are cheaper over here and are better taken care of than in the states you will probably be paying the same amount total as if you did the swap.
2 you can have a RB20det or SR20det or a CA18det full tuned engines imported with tranny and ecu/harness for a lot cheaper and I have seen some of these swaps done too. Plus these engines are lighter and cheaper to build, but the only draw back is they don't produce the same HP as the Z engine fully tuned which is about 900-1000HP. You will also keep it a Nissan to.

Re: Engine Swaps
I agree, My advice has always been to save an extra 6 months or so and buy the TT. The ONLY way you would want to do the swap is if you already had a substantial amount of money invested in a NA. (ie. interior, gauges, suspension, brakes, wheels, body kit, and/or sound system)

Re: Engine Swaps
Your in Japan right? I think I remember that from one of your last posts. The cars over there, is the drivers side on the left hand side? I have been looking for a TT over here by where I live, but no luck. Also all of my money is going into my 87 ZXT for restoration. What kind of costs would I be looking at for the car, shipping and all that other fun stuff?

No it is on the right hand side the only problems I for see is getting interior panels for it. You may end up paying $20,000 for everything that includes buying the car. Plus most of the cars i have been seeing have mufflers and body kits on them and about 50/50 on either auto or manual trans. But I have been over here for 5 years and have owned my Z for almost 4 and have to much invested into it let go to one of these fast and the stupid kids, plus I don't have the heart to destroy her either.
