I took my 300zx (z32) in because my coolant is leaking and visible on the ground. It seems to be the water pump. I was quoted about $650 (labor) plus parts. Total came to about $800. Is this high for replacement of the water pump? Just wondering if I should continue looking or just stop while I'm ahead.

Radiator seems empty each morning. I am not driving anywhere but to the mechanic of course. Resivor tank stays full.

that is an insanely high price amount for a water pump. the part should cost 100 ish tops, and labor SHOULD NOT exceed 300/350....that is rediculous and i would fight that..hell...i replace water pumps for free here =c(

Well, that could be great news. Can you recommend a place to have this installed? Chances of your being near me are probably slim, but I am in San Jose. Any recommendation is appreciated.
