Cold start
My 92TT doesn't like cold weather. On a cold morning when I try to start it the starter sounds like it is turning but the motor doesn't turn over. I'm pretty sure the battery is ok. Sounds sorta like when you try to start the motor when it is already running. When the air temp warms up a bit then the motor will start. Any sugestions?

The starter is grinding? It makes that high pitched noise like when you try and start an already running motor, right?
Have the starter and/or starter solenoid checked.
Never heard that one before. I've been able to start mine in -20 below weather before.

Yeah, I think the cold weather part was just coinidence. Yes, it does sound like when you try top start an already running motor. Have heard that the starter relay switch in the left wheel well may also cause this to happen. Wouldn't think it would allow the starter to only partially engage though. Need to figure out how to get the starter off and have it checked. Any good resources on how to do this?
Thanks for any help, it is appreciated.

Thanks. I'm confident that I can get it off, just didn't know if it required any special tools or that a regular socket set would do. As long as I can get to it. Maybe I'll have my skinny son wiggle under it and try his hand at wrenching. Anyway I do appreciate the info.
