300 HP is not easily accomplished for the N/A. A full exhaust system would help, and should be the next step prior to the chip. Check out www.specialtyz.com. They sell some really nice stuff. They have many options for different emmissions standards. I have no idea what the UK requirements are, but you'll find what you need here. If you can get rid of the CAT, then do it. After the exhaust system you should install the chip. Most people on this site, including myself will recommend the ashspec chip available at www.z1motorsports.com. The performance gains are greater than the competitors. The price is approximately 1/2 of what you'll pay elsewhere, and it's safer for the engine. You could install an underdrive pulley set, but the gains are less than 10 HP. www.unorthodoxracing.com. You could also go with a lightened flywheel and driveshaft, but once again, you'll see minimal gains. Give Z1 motorsports a try again. You can go with the extrude honed upper and lower plenums, but you don't get much bang for your buck here either. These items should get you close, but will probably still leave you short of 300 ponies. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Well, accomplishing 300 hp to the wheels is a lot different than to the crank. The TT has 300 to the crank. The biggest thing you can do after exhaust, chip, etc. is gonna be nitrous. You'll get the biggest bang for your buck with a safe nitrous setup. Also, with all the power..the OEM NA clutch won't do. Get a lightened flywheel and an RPS clutch. Here's a list of sites that you can go looks for decent mods for your NA.

That should be a good start for you to start shopping around. There's more out there, I just don't have time to find every shop for you, but here's some good ones.

If you do everything I listed, you'll get close. Cams would push you just a shade over 300. Nitrous will give you an extra 50-75 HP, but you obviously can't use it all the time. You can get cams from many af the sites Emo listed. The cams would be by far the hardest job.

You could always get creative and bore out the block....or drop in a vette 350 (it's been done).....hey, it's still an NA... JK...but you could bore or do a bunch of head work (i.e., 5-angle valve job, port and polish, etc.) And then, you might get there. For goodness sake, if all they sell are TTs, sell your NA for a lot since it's "rare" and get a TT.

Definitley keep us updated. But, not to discourage you, but good luck keeping up with the TTs. Even if you do get up to their level, all they have to do is dump 2 grand and they'll blow you away again and you're out of mods to do. And I have a TT as my daily driver, it's always on the road. And the only problems I've had are non-turbo related (i.e., clutch slave cylinder, hesitation, etc) But, to each his own, at least you're unique up there...but keep us updated, it's still impressive to see a fast NA even if tehy can't keep up.

Actually if you can get your N/A to 300 HP, you should be quicker than the stock TT's. You have better gear ratio's in the rear-end for quick take-offs. They'll be able to run you down, but you'll jump out early.

Yes, you can. So you'll beat up on stock TTs, but good luck on modded TTs. Zwrecker, you're car will be a drag car when you get the TT swap done since you allready have the closer gears.

Most can get it to about 180 or 190 to the wheels stock. Some maintenance sounds like it could go a long ways to help you out. At the crank it's 222 bhp.

It's all in my head. I just see questions people have and it reminds me of something else I read or have done and used a certain link to help myself. I'm just glad I could help you out. But after you do that stuff, see if it seems to make a difference in performance.

It's actually a PCV valve. PVC is that white plactic tubing. PCV + Positive Cranckcase Ventilation. It's not exactly a fun job, but could help. The voices in Emo's head tell him what to do. Tune ups include basic things. Spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, clean throttle bodies, etc. You really have an automatic!?! Might I ask why? I always think it's a shame to have an awesome sports cars with an automatic.

oops sorry, that was a typo. I meant PCV. Anyway, zwrecker, we went over this. The guy wants to be completly unique b/c theres a lot of TTs and hardly any NAs where he lives. I don't understand it either, but to each his own.

Have you considered doing a manual tranny conversion? You'll get a lot more power to the rear wheels with a manual tranny setup. If you're gonna spend all this money to make a fast NA, which you will, the conversion would be pretty worthwhile.
